A Message from the Program Director

As part of Bethesda College of Health Sciences, the Radiography Program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the concepts and principles of radiologic imaging which is then applied in the clinical setting. The didactic curriculum includes radiation protection, principles of radiologic positioning and procedures, equipment operation, image production and evaluation, and patient care. Instructional methods include the interactive lecture, active learning techniques, practical and simulated laboratory exercises, and student-centered learning.

The clinical component is based on a sequential progression of supervised clinical practice that allows students to apply the knowledge gained in the didactic portion of the Program. This integrated, competency-based approach results in graduates who are well prepared to enter the field of diagnostic imaging and produce quality radiographic images with the least amount of radiation dose necessary.
